The Labour Court did not recommend compensation for three workers who claimed lost earnings after relocating to a care facility in Ballyconnell, in a recommendation signed on 4 March 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said changed rosters reduced night, Sunday and public holiday work and associated premium earnings. The North Eastern Health Board said the relocation was voluntary and alternative care attendant posts had been available. The Court said the workers could have taken those posts or stayed at St Felim's hospital, choices that would have alleviated their loss.
