The Labour Court recommended a three-month trial of the Central Bank Of Ireland’s proposed shift system for Currency Assistants, followed by a review by the Irish Productivity Centre. The recommendation was dated 27 January 2003. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought compensation for lost overtime based on 61 times the weekly loss and three extra days’ annual leave. The Court recommended accepting management’s offer of 52 times the weekly overtime loss and did not concede the extra leave claim. It also recommended further discussions on outstanding shift-related issues after the review.
