In 2003, the Labour Court recommended that Aer Lingus’s offer to restore the Computer Room structure be accepted, in return for flexibility from four newly appointed superintendents. The recommendation was dated 6 January. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought upgrades for six clerical workers who took on duties after six superintendents left under a redundancy and early-retirement package. Aer Lingus said two workers of equivalent grade had also moved into the area and offered four superintendent posts through local competition. The Court said four positions remained to be filled and recommended accepting the company’s offer.
