The Labour Court recommended on 4 November 2002 that Sands Hotel offer a worker €3,000 in full and final settlement of claims arising from her dismissal, and provide an appropriate reference. The Court said the company’s treatment of the worker fell short of the standard expected of a reasonable employer. The worker, a former Front Office Manager, alleged that she was dismissed in July 2001 without cause. Management said she failed to meet the hotel’s performance standards and cited complaints and verbal warnings.
