The Labour Court recommended proposals to resolve a dispute over the relocation of Brothers Of Charity services from St. Senan’s Centre to new bungalows in Foynes. The recommendation, involving the Irish Nurses Organisation and Services Industrial Professional Technical Union, was signed on 12 August 2002. The Court noted that the employer was prepared to concede the claim for payment of additional night-duty hours and said the €2,000 recommended by the industrial relations officer should settle the retrospective element. It also recommended two 7.8-hour concession days for existing and new staff.
