Labour Court recommends Stanley Racing offer €63.50 per worker for euro changeover

The Labour Court recommended that Stanley Racing Limited’s offer of €63.50 in vouchers per worker be accepted, rather than the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for €317 each for additional work during the euro changeover. The recommendation was signed on 2 August 2002. The union said some staff worked outside normal hours, received little training and operated Bureau de Change services. The company said the changeover had not substantially increased work. The Court found the inconvenience was not exceptional enough to justify the claimed compensation.
