Labour Court recommends reducing C.B. Packaging Ltd staffing from six to four

In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that C.B. Packaging Ltd reduce staffing in its Clondalkin services area from six workers to four. The recommendation was dated 19 July 2002 and named the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union as the union party. The company relied on an Irish Productivity Centre report that found four workers sufficient; the union disputed the report and sought to maintain staffing. The Court said it saw no basis to interfere with the consultants’ conclusions and recommended further discussions on how to implement the change by the end of August.
