The Labour Court recommended that Highlighters Limited concede Mandate’s claim for pay increases matching those awarded to Superquinn staff. Highlighters employed about 70 people promoting products in Superquinn stores and was a wholly owned subsidiary of the Superquinn Group. The recommendation was signed on 5 June 2002. The Court accepted that Highlighters was a separate legal entity from its parent, but said the close working relationship and earlier special increases for Highlighters staff were relevant to the claim.
