The Labour Court recommended that Central Bank Of Ireland service-grade staff in Dame Street receive the full payment on the same basis as staff at the Currency Centre in Sandyford. The recommendation did not specify the amount. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) and Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union (ATGWU) had sought €2,032 for the Dame Street staff. The recommendation was signed on 31 May 2002. Management had offered €762, then proposed €2,032 for staff employed before January 1998 and €762 for later hires; the unions rejected both offers. The Court noted that the service-grade staff at both locations had always formed one negotiating unit.
