The Labour Court recommended that Dubarry Shoes Limited pay a 2% supplementary increase under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness from 1 April 2001, and a 1% lump sum on 1 October 2002. Its recommendation was dated 30 May 2002.
The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought the increase under the PPF review clause. The company said it could not afford increases and that the parties remained under the earlier P2000 agreement until November 2003.
The Court acknowledged the company's financial difficulties but said some improvement was due because the PPF was applied later than usual at the company.
