The Labour Court recommended that Bandon Co-Op. and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union discuss pay increases for categories paid less than corresponding categories at other West Cork co-ops. The recommendation was dated 29 May 2002.
The union sought a €28.57 pay increase and a once-off €259.95 payment per worker, saying pay increases agreed at other co-ops should also apply at Bandon. The Court said there was no formal pay relationship between the co-ops and no record of the alleged assurance. It found no basis to recommend the union's claim, but recommended that the union accept the company's offer of discussions.
