The Labour Court did not concede a union claim for extra pay-scale increments for four Mount Congreve Estate workers, in a recommendation signed on 15 May 2002. The dispute concerned how their prior experience was credited when they were moved onto new scales introduced in April 2000. The union said the workers had received less incremental credit for earlier experience than later recruits and sought recognition of their service. The Court said the estate had introduced a significant new arrangement and saw no basis for extra increments for the four claimants.
