The Labour Court recommended that Q. Flex Limited and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union (SIPTU) progress workplace issues through the procedures in S.I. 145/2000. The recommendation was dated 22 April 2002. SIPTU had referred issues including pay, overtime, leave and workplace policies after Q. Flex declined to meet the union. The union said it represented 13 workers at the Mullaghboy plant, while the company said 13 of its 76 employees had joined SIPTU and asked them to use existing consultation structures. The Court said available dispute-resolution avenues had not been exhausted and recommended that the company cooperate with the procedures.
