Labour Court recommends against extra Depot Controller post at Bray station

In 2002, the Labour Court recommended against conceding Iarnrod Eireann, the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and the National Bus & Rail Union's claim for an additional Depot Controller at Bray station. Its recommendation was dated 28 March 2002. The unions argued direct supervision of DART drivers was needed for safety and efficiency; management said existing station supervision and a new clerical officer were adequate. The Court also recommended that the parties put arrangements in place so drivers could compete on equal terms with other qualified staff for future promotional posts.
