In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that Wyeth Nutritionals withdraw its proposal to discontinue a 7.4% training allowance on 1 May 2002. In return, the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union was to enter serious negotiations on an annualised-hours agreement. The recommendation was dated 7 March 2002. The union had sought to include the allowance in pensionable pay. The Court said which pay elements counted for pension purposes should be settled through negotiations on the proposed agreement.
