In 2002, the Labour Court did not concede the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for a €1,270 lump sum and double time for cash-in-transit workers handling euro changeover business. It considered the changes minor and the claim precluded under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness. The recommendation was signed on 4 March 2002. The union said workers took on additional responsibilities and cited payments by other security companies. CP Security said there was no appreciable increase in its workers’ workload and that extra hours were covered by an existing composite-rate agreement.
