In 2002, the Labour Court recommended a standard employee pension contribution of 5% in a dispute between Kerry / Dawn Group and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The company had said it was prepared to consider improvements for future service with a 7% contribution. The Court also declined to recommend freezing the reckonable social welfare amount or applying improvements to all service, while recommending that the parties examine whether some back service could be counted. It noted that several other claims had been conceded. The recommendation was dated 14 February 2002.
