In 2002, the Labour Court recommended that the Licensed Vintners Association pay the 2% Programme for Prosperity and Fairness increase sought by Mandate for bar staff from 1 April 2001. The association pointed to 26% pay increases agreed in June 2000, but the Court did not accept that the earlier rise was part of the PPF and said the employer had not provided sufficient evidence that the additional increase would threaten competitiveness or employment. The recommendation was dated 11 February 2002.
