The Labour Court recommended that Cellular World pay €6,500 compensation to a retail sales executive after finding that the company breached its dismissal procedures. The recommendation was signed on 11 February 2002. The worker, represented by Mandate, said she was dismissed after explaining she could not work Sundays when rostered. Cellular World said staff were expected to work Sundays. The Court found that no investigation took place, the worker was not allowed representation, and the dismissal breached the Code of Practice on Grievance and Disciplinary Procedures.
