The Labour Court recommended that Gerard House Nursing Home offer three nurses made redundant after its sale a payment based on three weeks’ pay per year of service. The recommendation was signed on 7 February 2002. The Irish Nurses Organisation said the nurses had expected adequate compensation but were told only statutory redundancy would be paid. The Court said one week’s pay should be calculated under the Redundancy Payments Acts 1967–1991.
