The Labour Court did not recommend that Campbell Catering Limited restore the pay differential sought for five cashiers at its RTÉ catering unit. The recommendation was signed on 7 February 2002. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said cashiers had historically earned 75 pence an hour more than catering assistants. The Court found no basis for a pay relationship between the claimants and the wider group of general assistants, and noted they could take a Campbell Catering contract and receive the general assistant rate.
