In 2002, the Labour Court recommended accepting the pay structure Noonan Services Ltd introduced on 1 June 2001, subject to outstanding Partnership 2000 and Programme for Prosperity and Fairness increases being paid and reflected in rates. The recommendation, signed on 6 February 2002, followed a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union involving 20 workers at two Limerick sites. The union said the changes to shifts and pay were made without negotiations and sought compensation for lost overtime. The company disputed that workers had lost earnings. The Court said the company should have sought union agreement on the changes and found that earlier increases had not been included in the new rates.
