The Labour Court did not recommend the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for a 10% premium over Joint Labour Committee rates at Killarney Ryan Hotel. The recommendation was signed on 6 February 2002. The union said such a differential was established practice in unionised hotels and that wages were low for the hours worked. The Court said it could not find sufficient evidence that a differential had previously been agreed or applied.
