The Labour Court recommended that Craobh Chiarain offer Mr Patrick Russell an ex-gratia severance payment of €19,000 in full and final settlement of all claims. The recommendation, dated 21 January 2002, followed a dispute over an exit package for the general maintenance and stores manager, who had worked for the club since 1984 and was unable to return to work.
The union said Mr Russell had no pension entitlements and had given long and loyal service. The company said it had kept his position open and had not tried to make him redundant. The Court recommended the payment after considering both sides’ submissions.
