In 2002, the Labour Court found for the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union in a claim for the revised 2% increase and 5.5% Phase 2 payment under the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness. The recommendation was dated 3 January 2002. MJM Electronics & MJM Manufacturing argued that trading difficulties prevented payment. The union said workers had continued to deliver efficiencies and were paid £4.70 an hour. The Court found the companies had not supplied enough evidence to support their arguments under the agreement. Its recommendation did not specify a payment amount.
