The Labour Court recommended that Kilkenny Corporation and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union compare premium payments for car park and swimming pool attendants with those for similar local authority workers, then agree arrangements no less favourable. The recommendation was dated 6 December 2001. The union also sought a weekend allowance for two cemetery operatives. The Court said the claim had effectively been disposed of by a 1997 Rights Commissioner recommendation that neither party appealed, and did not recommend conceding it.
