Labour Court recommends June 2000 pay date for Iarnrod Eireann traffic supervisors

In 2001, the Labour Court recommended that Iarnrod Eireann apply the June 2000 implementation date for new pay scales to its traffic supervisors. The recommendation was signed on 6 November 2001. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Transport Salaried Staffs' Association argued that supervisors should share the retrospective date because their work supported the locomotive drivers' agreement. Iarnrod Eireann said traffic supervisors were not generally involved in managing locomotive drivers. The Court said the supervisors would likely have received the same date had they negotiated with the wider Supervisory Group.
