The Labour Court recommended that Arramara Teoranta increase its redundancy offer to four weeks' pay per year of service, plus statutory redundancy entitlement, for 11 workers. It said the terms should be accepted in full and final settlement of the claims. The recommendation was dated 25 October 2001. The company had offered three weeks' pay per service year, inclusive of statutory redundancy. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought seven weeks plus statutory entitlements, citing earlier terms and the company's government restructuring fund. Arramara said its financial circumstances and restructuring costs prevented it from repeating previous payments.
