The Labour Court recommended that Teagasc’s offer to a worker employed as an electrician at Johnstown Castle be accepted as full and final settlement of an upgrading claim. The recommendation was signed on 22 October 2001. The worker, represented by the Technical, Engineering and Electrical Union, sought upgrading to a Foreman position. Teagasc had offered promotion to Chargehand Electrician, and the Court recommended accepting that offer as amended to provide for the worker’s retirement in April 2002.
