The Labour Court recommended that Hollister Ulc implement the revised Programme for Prosperity and Fairness increase on 1 April 2002, after a dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 19 October 2001. Hollister said a 2000 productivity agreement already exceeded the programme terms. The Court was not satisfied that paying the increase would undermine the company’s competitiveness or employment, though it accepted that immediate implementation could be difficult. It also recommended further discussions by January 2002 about full retrospection to 1 April 2001.
