The Labour Court recommended that the East Coast Area Health Board’s offer of pay increases backdated to January 2000 be accepted in full and final settlement of its dispute with the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union. The recommendation was signed on 22 October 2001. The dispute concerned 12 emergency medical technicians at Loughlinstown Ambulance Base and the implementation date for a pay and productivity agreement. The union sought retrospection to June 1997; the Board offered increases backdated to 1 January 2000.
