Labour Court recommends mediation and restored lost earnings in Carlow County Council dispute

The Labour Court recommended on 26 July 2001 that Carlow County Council appoint an agreed external mediator to address a worker's dispute with colleagues. It found a long-standing conflict had made interaction impossible and left the worker in an intolerable working environment, but said it would not determine the cause or apportion blame. The Court also recommended that the council expunge the worker's suspension from her record and restore any earnings lost because of it. The worker had alleged bullying and harassment and said her suspension was unfair; the council rejected those claims.
