The Labour Court recommended referring a union recognition dispute between Trinity Biotech PLC and the Amalgamated Transport and General Workers’ Union to the Labour Relations Commission. The recommendation was signed on 26 July 2001. The union sought recognition and payroll deductions for subscriptions, saying about 70 workers wanted representation. Trinity Biotech said it would recognise the union if 70 workers sought representation; the union had supplied a list of 62.
