The Labour Court recommended that AIB’s computer sorters accept an 18% basic pay increase, a 10% supervisory differential and other terms, with retrospection to 1 June 2000. The recommendation was dated 10 July 2001. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union sought pay parity with Eircom Officer Grade 1, changes to overtime allowances and earlier retrospection. The Court said there was no basis for the proposed pay relationship and recommended accepting the bank’s offers on overtime and permanent appointments. It also recommended keeping the existing pay arrangements in place, with the issue open to review after the wider process.
