The Labour Court recommended that Allied Foods Limited's warehouse staff cooperate with a move to Tallaght and the introduction of new warehouse and time management systems. In return, the company should maintain average earnings for four weeks and average bonus earnings for a further nine weeks. The recommendation was signed on 2 July 2001. The Court also recommended a monitoring committee, a review after 12 months and payment of the proposed sum in one lump at the time of the move. It said there was a serious lack of trust between workers and management and recommended partnership dialogue. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought compensation for the relocation and new technology; the Court did not specify the payment amount in its recommendation.
