Labour Court rejects Guinness Staff Union bid for extended redundancy terms

The Labour Court did not recommend extending redundancy terms to five Guinness Staff Union members at IAB Distribution. The recommendation, signed on 2 July 2001, found the union had no agreement allowing the package to be extended to them. The union sought the terms after a separate recommendation extended them to named drivers. Guinness Ireland Limited said its Plan 2000 package expired on 31 December 2000 and that the earlier variation applied only to the named individuals.
