The Labour Court did not recommend concession of a union claim for higher compensation for an Irish Rail worker affected by construction and temporary office relocation at Midland Yard, North Wall. The recommendation was dated 29 June 2001. The worker had received £333 under an agreement negotiated between the parties. The Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association sought £4,200, arguing that he had spent half his time working outdoors in difficult conditions. The Court found the payment was in accordance with the agreement and recommended against the additional claim.
