The Labour Court recommended that Provincial Security Services and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union meet urgently to find a way to implement the outstanding part of a proposed pay agreement for security officers at Intel’s Leixlip complex. The recommendation was dated 29 June 2001. The union sought a 35% productivity-related pay increase for about 85 officers. The Court said the terms proposed at conciliation represented a reasonable compromise and recommended that the parties explore how the company’s current difficulty could be overcome so the remaining part of the proposed agreement could be implemented.
