The Labour Court did not recommend concession of the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim against Atwell Holdings, Thomas Read Group over pay terms for two workers at Dublin airport. The recommendation was dated 28 June 2001. The union sought to apply an Extended Hours Agreement composite rate to a barman and a supervisor while keeping their existing personal terms. The Court found the agreement maintained their pay and conditions at the level that would have applied without the transfer, but made no provision for preserving a particular pay differential with colleagues. It did not accept that the company had acted contrary to the red-circling agreement.
