The Labour Court recommended that Donegal County Council’s proposed pay scale be accepted for Sanitary Services workers, with the effective date moved to 1 March 2000. The recommendation was signed on 23 March 2001. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought Assistant Water Inspector grading, different scales for permanent and temporary workers, and an effective date in January 2000. The Court considered the council’s grading structure appropriate in light of the workers’ duties and national grading criteria.
