In 2001, the Labour Court recommended that a National Youth Information Co-Ordinator’s allowance bring her pay into line with the Civil Service Assistant Principal scale for entrants after 5 April 1995. It also recommended incremental credit to give her the equivalent of the first long service increment from 3 January 2000. The recommendation was signed on 30 January 2001. The worker was employed by the Department Of Education And Science and was on secondment from Dublin Corporation. The Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union brought the pay dispute on her behalf. The Court said the dispute had lasted a considerable time and recommended a pragmatic resolution.
