In 2001, the Labour Court recommended that Services Industrial Professional Technical Union accept Braun Ireland Ltd's offer to discuss a pay-parity dispute involving about 12 technicians on a lower rate. The union argued they performed the same work as higher-paid technicians and had lacked a vote in the cross-skilling agreement. Braun Ireland Ltd said the rate followed a negotiated agreement and was appropriate to the business. The recommendation was signed on 15 January 2001.
