The Labour Court recommended that Control Plus and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union return to negotiations on pay and conditions for 68 workers on a Dublin Corporation contract. The recommendation was signed on 28 September 2000. The Court found current pay rates were out of line with the most appropriate comparators, while noting the company operated under a fixed-price contract. It recommended talks on a package reflecting the workers’ duties and responsibilities, with arrangements to fund any agreed adjustments. If the parties did not reach agreement within two months of accepting the recommendation, they could refer the matter back to the Court.
