In 2000, the Labour Court did not recommend an alternative pay structure for seven electronic technicians employed by Commissioners Of Irish Lights. The recommendation was signed on 24 August 2000. Irish Municipal, Public And Civil Trade Union sought a further long-service increment, a higher scale for two technicians and backdating under the Programme for Competitiveness and Work. The Commissioners said the agreed 5.5% increase applied uniformly across staff grades. The Court said the agreement had been applied uniformly and was not persuaded that the union’s proposals could fit within its terms.
