In 2000, the Labour Court found no basis to recommend the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union’s claim for a payment to Udv Operations (Ireland) Limited workers over efficiencies from the Phoenix project. Its recommendation was signed on 24 August 2000. The union sought £350 per person for increased efficiencies and production between June and December 1997. The company said the project was never completed and that an earlier £700 payment related to later production and overtime, not Phoenix. The Court recommended that the issues be addressed in broader negotiations between the parties.
