Labour Court says Fas retirement proposals should reflect past arrangements

The Labour Court recommended that Fas take account of its history of pre-retirement arrangements when preparing retirement proposals. Its recommendation was signed on 18 August 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union said a policy drafted by AnCO in 1983 remained in use at Fas. Fas said the document was only a draft and had never been formally approved. The Court found that the draft policy had never been formalised, but that a system delegating pre-retirement arrangements to line managers had existed at AnCO and continued at Fas.
