The Labour Court recommended that the Museum Of Modern Art and the Services Industrial Professional Technical Union jointly explore Benchmarking as a way to address the pay review claim for 33 museum mediators. The recommendation was signed on 18 August 2000. The union said the mediators’ pay did not reflect their skills and qualifications and sought a review and an interim increase. At the hearing, the employer’s representative said the claim could be considered through the Benchmarking process. The Court said the Museum could also proceed with its proposed structural review, and the dispute could return to the Court if Benchmarking was unavailable.
