The Labour Court did not recommend that the North Eastern Health Board concede a union claim for a higher allowance for an electrician at Louth County Hospital. The recommendation, involving the Technical, Engineering And Electrical Union, was signed on 8 August 2000. The Court said the national craft agreement’s increases were not a wage round in the usual sense. It found the earlier Rights Commissioner recommendation and a later clarification made clear that the allowance should be adjusted only by wage-round increases.
