The Labour Court recommended that Hitech employees accept the company’s pay offer, with an increase in annual service pay to £300 for employees with more than 10 years’ service. The offer included increases linked to the National Minimum Wage and the Programme for Prosperity and Fairness, a shift premium and a pay-scale review. Services Industrial Professional Technical Union had sought higher basic pay, attendance and production bonuses, and payment of all phases of the national agreement. The Court also recommended discussions on a possible productivity bonus scheme. Its recommendation was signed on 8 August 2000.
