The Labour Court recommended that Roadstone Limited’s final offer be put to employees for consideration after talks on a dispute widened beyond an earlier recommendation. The recommendation was signed on 30 June 2000. The Services Industrial Professional Technical Union and Automobile General Engineering & Mechanical Operative Union said Roadstone had not engaged in meaningful discussions, while the unions also said the offer was unclear. The Court said the parties had considered a wide range of options but could take negotiations no further.
